I only have to say the word amongst friends and they all nod their heads and say..."Mmmmm". We LOVE us some Target!! Although, being as glam as we are, we pronounce it as the French would.. how to show that phonetically, I have no clue as I am not French!. Also, being as glam as we are, Target is a great place for "girls' night". They have EVERYTHING! You know you sooo needed those Zebra print heels girl! Plus- there's cute skorts and tanks for when you start working out (yeah, right)! Neat little journal type thingy for ALL of the notes that I really am gonna take at church now!! Need a little more of a buzz? There is a Starbucks right inside that Target!! Oh my gosh- can someone say Heaven on Earth?? Hmmm.. I KNOW if I get that pedometer that it will be great cause it will count my steps and that will make me want to be more active, right? AND- along w/ my great Organization ideas (see previous blog, I believe it's titled "Good Intentions") there are tons of those dry erase boards and corks boards and file bins and baskets! Target is the best because they have one to match every room of the house :) Next aisle over is the sun mirror that I have just been looking everywhere for, so I really need to get it now! The candle holders I just picked up and put down would look FABULOUS w/ the mirror, but then I will have to change the pillows for the right effect. Then I pass the detergent, ect, aisle and see "Febreeze". If I stock up on some nice new sponges, magic erasers, and cleaning products, then I WILL really want to clean the house top to bottom- I just know it! Oh my, my cart is getting full- good thing there's that handy shelf-thingy on the bottom. Wow- now they have purses by a "real" designer!! Jewelry too! I think I had these earrings in high-school. Totally awesome fur sure!!
Alas- my Target was not a glam one tonight as parents clawed eachothers' eyes out for school supplies. It was truly a sad, sad sight. "I need a blue, a green AND a yellow folder! No- NOT w/ brads!!" "It (the school supply list) says "Crayola" not "Roseart" Markers!!" "Where are the glue sticks!!" "I am SO tired of Hannah Montana!" The rest is just embarrassing. Some people looked like they hadn't slept last night (or showered today thank-you-very-much!) because they were gearing up for back to school shopping. Here in Memphis, registration for public school is on Tuesday of this coming week. This past weekend was what is called "Tax- Free" weekend. Usually there is sales tax on everything here. But during this wonderfully special time- school supplies including clothes and certain computers and electronics are tax free. It was made bearable by my friend Amy coming w/ me. I dreaded it all day and we ate dinner and then went to Target. I kept telling her how I REALLY didn't want to go. She was like, "How bad can it be??" After 1 1/2 hours of battle we made it to the parking lot. Usually we are walking on air after a trip to our beloved Target (remember to say it the French way!). This time she looks at me and says, "Bless your heart honey!" That's Southern for, "You POOR thing!!" Just for the record- tonight I said some not-so-nice words, thought some OHHH not-so-nice thoughts and I am tired of Hannah Montana too- But I STILL, and always will, love me some TARGET......yes, say it the French way please!

Hysterical! I "heart" Tar-gay too! In fact, I will be there again tonight! But sadly, we do not have any Starbucks in the ones around here (and I've been to pretty much all of them!)...I guess you guys down south are just that much more classy than up here...and I am VERY jealous!
I picked up most of our supplies already - but didn't need too much given that the oldest child is only in Kindergarten (and doesn't start until 9/2!)
Let's catch up soon
k
and I probaby should have put "Tarj-ay" instead of "Tar-GAY"...
Pardon my french!!
