Baby under that Babydoll??

Does this word bother anyone else?? BABYDOLL TOPS!!!! Ummmm HATE THEM!! What is the deal w/ the retailers having the nerve to sell these hideous kind of shirts? They were gross in the 90's and they are gross now. Case in point... today I wore one of my babydoll tops to do errands. That's what I wear them for since I couldn't care less what I look like while running errands in 106 degree weather :) Anyway, I go to get my nail salon and there is a wait. I am slightly pleased 'cause they have an issue of People magazine that I haven't read yet. May I just add that the formentioned babydoll top is cream w/ some wonderfully boring polka dots on it. AND- the best part- it TIES in the BACK!! Yup- just like a maternity top! Darling isn't it?? I plop down, pick up People, and get to work. I notice a couple of the other women sneaking glances at me. I catch one of them and she smiles "that" smile at me. Another woman does the same thing. I don't catch on at first, sitting there thinking, "What a friendly clientele they have in this place". I smile sweetly back at them at get back to my mag. I get my nails done and continue about my day. After dinner, I recall the nice women in the nail salon and their friendly smiles and it hits me. THEY THOUGHT I WAS PREGNANT!!!!! AHHHHH! That's what "THAT" smile was! I knew I recognized it. I do have 3 kids after all! It's one thing if I put on those tops and shudder "OMG I look pregnant!!". Completely another if I'm getting THAT smile from strangers. Yikes. This type of top should be banned. Hmmm... maybe I will register to vote after all :)
